Executive Director, Mike SewardMike Seward took up the role of Executive Director in October. Mike has recently held the position of CEO of the Perth Primary Care Network (Division of General Practice) and prior to that was the CEO of the GP Coastal Division of General Practice and Business Manager at Rural Health West and Royal Perth Hospital. Mike has a Bachelor of Accountancy degree and a Master of Science, Public Management and Policy and brings extensive experience to WANADA from his career in Australia, the UK and Zimbabwe. |
Aboriginal Services Manager, Wayne Flugge
Wayne is WANADA's Aboriginal Services Manager, collaborating with Diane on the Quality Framework and supporting regional and remote AOD agencies in their implementation of the Continual Quality Improvement process. |
Operations Manager, Jane HarwoodJane's role is to support the team in delivering projects and to make sure that governance requirements are met. Jane has come from working at the WA AIDS Council and prior to that worked in the UK managing a quality standard for organisations with volunteers. |
Aboriginal Network and Slow Down Project Officer, Mary Ford
Mary helps Aboriginal workers in the alcohol and other drug sector to network, share ideas, work on staff and workplace development issues, and find ways in which the Aboriginal community can be better served by the AOD sector. Through the Slow Down Project, Mary is supporting communities in the Midwest, Great Southern and South West to produce educational information for Aboriginal injecting drug users about blood-borne viruses. |
Diversion Policy and Support OfficerThe Diversion Policy and Support Officer's role is to provide advocacy and support to all Diversion Preferred Providers and Diversion workers throughout WA. Diversion programs aim to divert offenders out of the justice system and into treatment of their underlying illicit drug use problems. The support provided includes contributing to workforce development and training, providing forums, teleconferences and other events, assisting with promoting and developing the diversion programs and contributing to policy development. |
Project Manager - Sector Development Coordination, Angela CorryAngela Corry has worked in the AOD sector for the past 13 or so years, most recently in the Goldfields. Angela was initially engaged by WANADA to work on the Kimberley Drug and Alcohol Working Committee (DAWC) consultancy project to develop a strategic alcohol and drug plan for the region. Angela is now working with agencies throughout the state to improve the sector's capacity to work with people who have both mental health and alcohol and other drug problems. |
Project Officer, Kim ZiapurKim Ziapur has joined the WANADA team to work part-time on both the Health Consumer Project, funded by St John of God Health Care, and the Quality Framework Digital Library. Kim works on Tuesdays and Fridays, so if you have any questions about the library, or a resource to contribute, these are the best times to get in touch. Kim most recently worked for Centrecare Goldfields as the team leader for the Alcohol and other Drugs Mental Health Program, a job that involved counselling clients as far afield as Leonora and Laverton, including Diversion clients. Kim has also worked for the Drug and Alcohol Office at the East Perth Neuropsychology Clinic. While there she completed her Honours in neuropsychology – comparing brain functioning in control groups with people who have problems with methamphetamine or alcohol use. |
Finance and Administration Manager, Mary-Louise DaviesMary-Louse has worked as the National Finance Manager at the Native Title Tribunal and most recently at the Perth Bone and Tissue Bank in finance and administration. Mary-Louise says she particularly enjoys working with organisations as they grow and develop. |
Public Relations Officer, Deanne Ferris

Administration Officer, Merilyn WigleyMerilyn manages the Child Care Access and Interpreter Access Projects, both of which support people to access alcohol and other drug-related services. Merilyn is also responsible for the Employee Assistance Program, through which member agencies can offer their staff free, confidential counselling. |
General Administration Support, Billie CourtBillie joined the WANADA team in July and provides administration support to the Aboriginal Services team on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. |
