Name WA’s Alcohol and other Drug Sector Data System and Repository
WANADA invites you to get creative and help us name two new developments in the alcohol and other drug sector - a client management system and a data repository.
Tango IT, the IT consultant supporting WANADA’s data and outcomes scoping project, is providing a prize to the value of $300 for each winning name. Prizes will take the form of an agreed gift voucher (eg a popular hardware chain, online store or department store).
To help you, please read more about the new developments in desperate need of names:
1. Client management system for alcohol and other drug services
A new client management system will be implemented for participating alcohol and other drug services in WA. This system is being developed due to the decommissioning of the Service Information Management System (SIMS) currently provided by the Mental Health Commission.
The secure system will be used by participating organisations to record information about service delivery (e.g. demographic information, assessments and outcomes, case notes, occasions of service), meet reporting requirements, and manage service delivery activities (e.g. scheduling appointments).
2. Data repository for the alcohol and other drug service sector
WANADA will develop the infrastructure to house data about alcohol and other drug service delivery in WA. This data set will comprise de-identified data provided with the consent of alcohol and other drug service users. For example, this might include demographic characteristics, information about alcohol and other drug use, and information about the types and number of services delivered to consumers. This data set will be a resource for the alcohol and other drug service sector to inform policy, planning and the identification of trends, to the benefit of service users in WA.
