Slow Down DVD a Success for Mullewa
Slow Down DVD a Success for Mullewa
Congratulations to the Aboriginal community in Mullewa and the Midwest Community Drug
Service Team on the launch of their DVD on the risks of drug use, held on Thursday 27 August.
Slow Down features interviews with members of the local Aboriginal community, including
children, Elders and former drug users. The DVD lets people know about the risks of
intravenous drug use, such as blood-borne viruses, and the effects on the community.
The Slow Down DVD was produced with assistance from WANADA as part of our Department
of Health and Ageing funded project Slow Down, which aimed to assist three regional Aboriginal
communities to produce culturally secure resources on drug use. WANADA’s Aboriginal
Network Project Officer Mary Ford is pleased to to see the community’s hard work recognised.
Mental Health Minister Graham Jacobs strongly endorsed the project. You can read his media
release.
